Cloud Recording & Transcoding

Server-side mixing, recording and restreaming

A software MCU that mixes, records and restreams SRTC channels on your own servers: composite or per-stream recording, custom layouts, watermarks and RTMP output, with GPU acceleration up to 4K.

Cloud Recording & Transcoding is the SRTC server-side media processing component (a software MCU). It mixes the audio and video in a channel into a layout for composite recording, per-stream recording and restreaming. Files go to local disk, S3-compatible object storage, NFS or a third-party cloud, and the mixed output can also be sent live over RTC / RTSP / SIP / RTMP. GPU-accelerated encoding enables 4K 30 fps dual-stream recording, and a distributed cluster with automatic failover keeps files safe. It is self-hosted with SRTC, so recording, transport and storage can all stay on your network.

Features

Server-side mixing

Mix every stream in a room, including screen shares, into one composite.

Recording

Per-stream or composite recording to local or cloud storage.

Restreaming

Push the mixed output to a live streaming service, CDN or your own system.

Watermarks

Overlay text or image watermarks to deter leaks.

Custom layouts

Gallery, speaker and picture-in-picture, with control over what each tile shows.

Rotation

Fixed tiles plus rotating tiles on a timer.

Any format in, any format out

In: files, RTMP, RTSP cameras, meeting streams. Out: files, restreams, live media.

Scale on demand

Runs on commodity servers or cloud VMs instead of fixed hardware MCUs.

GPU acceleration

GPU encoding/decoding with any codec and container on output, up to 4K 30 fps dual-stream recording.

Storage options

Local disk
S3-compatible storage
NFS
Third-party cloud storage

Live output: RTC / RTSP / SIP / RTMP

Why SRTC

Highly available

A distributed cluster with automatic failover makes sure every file lands.

API-driven

Start, stop and lay out recordings from your backend.

Lower cost

Software on standard servers instead of dedicated MCU hardware.

Self-hosted

Recording, transport and storage can all stay on your network.

Use cases

Education
